Recycling Composites from the Aerospace Industry (1995)

Summary:

Composite manufacturers supply different types of fiber-reinforced plastic composite to the aerospace industry. Waste consists of edge trimmings and uncured pre-preg (woven fiber) scrap. The high cost of the raw materials warrants efforts to evaluate alternatives to landfilling of the scrap. The study showed the recycled fibers have potential value as reinforcement additives to at least two different resins.
