Seventh Circuit Rules in Hively v. Ivy Tech That Title VII Bars Sexual Orientation Discrimination, Contrary to Decisions by Other Federal Appeals Courts

The Seventh Circuit, agreeing with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, has become the first federal appeals court to rule that Title VII bars discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The courtís divided opinion, including a lengthy dissent, tees up the issue for likely Supreme Court review.
