Urban Recycled Wood: Characterization and End-Use Requirements (1997)
Summary:
Developing markets for urban recycled wood (URW) is challenging, but
potential markets include manufacturers of biomass fuel, composite wood
products, pulp & paper products. Through surveys and other research,
the following end-use specifications were determined for these markets:
moisture content, brightness level, size and shape, contamination levels.
This project also sought to increase uses and markets for URW by educating
processors and end-users on product quality issues, as well as end-user
requirements or specifications, and regulatory constraints.
