Member Roundtable: The New DEI Executive Order — Implications for Contractors
This members only virtual roundtable will provide a practical, candid forum for discussing a new Executive Order affecting federal contractors and subcontractors and their DEI related programs and practices.
The Executive Order, Addressing DEI Discrimination by Federal Contractors, introduces a new compliance framework that differs in important ways from long standing contractor models. It operates through mandatory contract clauses, relies on agency specific enforcement, and is expected to be implemented on an accelerated timeline.
The discussion will focus on how members are interpreting the Order, how enforcement may vary across agencies, and what the requirements may mean in day to day operational terms. Topics will include the scope of prohibited “racially discriminatory DEI activities,” the practical implications of the new contract clauses, government access to records and documentation, and enforcement considerations, including False Claims Act materiality.
The session is designed to be confidential and discussion driven, with opportunities for participants to ask questions, share perspectives, and compare approaches with CWC staff and fellow members.
