In May, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee voted on President Biden's nomination of Jennifer Abruzzo to serve as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board. However, the vote resulted in a tie along party lines.
On July 13, 2021, the Senate approved a motion to discharge the HELP Committee from considering the nomination, paving the way for a formal confirmation vote in the future. The Senate
approved the motion on a party line vote of 50 to 48.
