New Graduate Diversity Data Could Help Employers Target Their Campus Recruitment Efforts

Demographic data related to academic degrees conferred by U.S. colleges and universities during the 2021-2022 academic year is now available in a series of tables prepared by CWC.

The tables show demographic data by academic award level for 38 degree fields during the 2021-2022 academic year. CWC also has loaded the complete Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) into its Graduate Diversity Data and Diversity Finder tools, which members can access through CWC’s Data Center. These most recent completions data provide information on the race/ethnicity, gender, and citizenship of the more than 4 million postsecondary degree recipients in the 2021-2022 academic year.

What It Means

CWC’s refinements to the data can help companies determine the numbers and percentages of women and men, and minorities and nonminorities, among all individuals who attained a particular award level (i.e., associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctor’s degree) in a particular field of study during the 2021-2022 academic year. Companies could use this information to establish reliable EEO/AA and diversity benchmarks for college and university recruitment initiatives.

What You Should Do

CWC members should take a look at the tables and the Graduate Diversity Data Degree Analyzer and Diversity Finder tools in our Data Center when developing their recruitment strategies.
