White House Pulls EEOC And Labor Department Nominees

On April 27, 2026, the White House withdrew two pending nominations: M. Carter Crow (EEOC General Counsel) and Daniel Bonham (Assistant Secretary of Labor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs). The White House did not provide a reason and has not yet indicated whether replacement nominees will be submitted.

Crow is Global Head of Employment and Labor at a management-side law firm, and Bonham is a former Oregon state senator.

What It Means

  • EEOC: The Commission remains without a Senate-confirmed General Counsel; Catherine Eschbach continues as Acting General Counsel.
  • DOL: Tim Cummings continues as Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs.
