DOL Seeks Routine Three-Year Extension of VETS-4212 Report

December 12, 2023

What's New

The Labor Department’s Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS) announced November 28 that it will ask the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to allow it to keep using the current version of the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report (VETS-4212) for three more years. Covered federal contractors must file the report with VETS annually. Public comments on DOL’s request are due January 29, 2024.

CWC plans to file comments supporting the agency’s request to extend the current version of the VETS-4212 for another three years, without any changes.

What It Means

CWC will file comments supporting the intent of DOL-VETS to seek OMB’s approval to continue using the current version of the VETS-4212. We believe that the report—in conjunction with DOL-VETS’ current filing system and procedures—represents a relatively simple and efficient means for satisfying the reporting requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA). Assuming OMB approves the extension request without any changes, contractors will continue to report their Dun & Bradstreet numbers to DOL-VETS. We expect that OMB will approve the request without change.
