The Labor Department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS) has opened the filing system for the VETS-4212 Report. The submission deadline is September 30, 2024.
Federal contractors and subcontractors must file the VETS-4212 form annually. The form provides a workforce snapshot by protected veteran status and the number of protected veteran new hires for the preceding 12-month period. There are no changes to the filing specifications or procedures from the previous season.
For the data snapshot, filers have two options. The first is to use a single data file pulled in July or August of 2024. Filers that intend to use a data snapshot of December 31, 2023, in their upcoming EEO-1 Component 1 reports instead may opt to use that same data snapshot for their 2024 VETS-4212 reports. The snapshot date will dictate a contractor’s 12-month reporting period for purposes of the number of protected veteran hires.
DOL-VETS encourages online filing, either by online completion or electronic submission. The VETS-4212 Federal Contractor Reporting webpage and the VETS-4212 Form contain more information.
