CWC Issues New Resource on State And Local AAP Development And Submission Requirements

March 20, 2025

What's New

CWC has published a new resource that covers state and local affirmative action program development and submission requirements for contractors.

The resource — CWC’s State and Local AAP Development and Submission Requirements — highlights jurisdictions where contractors are required or could be asked to maintain or submit qualitative or quantitative information about their affirmative action efforts as a condition of doing business with the jurisdiction. For each jurisdiction, the resource specifies the information that must be provided and whether or when it must be submitted. This resource supplements the existing CWC State AAP and Local AAP Requirements resources that we recently updated.

What It Means

In light of the rescission of Executive Order 11246, employers need to be aware of their state and local affirmative action obligations. Employers previously could have fulfilled some of these requirements by maintaining a federally required AAP, but employers now must reacquaint themselves with each state and local requirement.

What You Should Do

Members should review their contracts with state and local governments and consult this CWC resource to decide whether they are meeting the requirements for each jurisdiction.
