CWC Resource Explains Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics Report

December 4, 2025

What's New

CWC has published a resource that guides employers in responding to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) report. BLS collects and publishes information about the U.S. labor market and economy. The OEWS report is one survey BLS uses to collect employment and wage data from employers.

What It Means

While there is no federal requirement that employers respond to the OEWS report, some states make participation mandatory. This resource will help CWC members that are required to respond (or who respond voluntarily) properly complete the report.

What You Should Do

Members that receive requests to complete the OEWS report should use our resource to guide their response. Members can also check out CWC’s Mandatory Bureau of Labor Statistics Reports and Surveys resource to learn which states require employers to participate in the OEWS report.
