Madison’s Department of Civil Rights monitors compliance with these requirements. The Department publishes a model affirmative action program, required notices, and a best practices guide for contractors submitting affirmative action information.

What It Means

Many states and localities require companies seeking to do business with the jurisdiction to either maintain or submit an affirmative action program. Since President Trump rescinded Executive Order 11246, many contractors have asked whether these state and local affirmative action requirements remain intact or whether modifications will be needed. The answer varies by jurisdiction. CWC will update many of the state and local resources that we released over the years to ensure that our members have access to updated compliance guides.
