DOL Announces 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award Recipients

March 11, 2026

What's New

The U.S. Department of Labor has released the list of employers receiving its 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Awards. The awards, administered by DOL’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), recognize employers that demonstrate efforts to recruit, employ, and retain military veterans.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award program was established by the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017. Participation in the program is voluntary and open to employers of all sizes. To qualify, employers must apply and certify—through an attestation by the CEO, CHRO, or equivalent official—that they meet applicable hiring, retention, and programmatic criteria.

For large employers, award levels (gold and platinum) are tied to veteran hiring and retention benchmarks and the presence of supporting infrastructure such as veteran resource groups, leadership development programs, and dedicated human resources support.

DOL typically announces award recipients in conjunction with Veterans Day.

What It Means

The HIRE Vets Medallion Awards provide insight into the veteran focused employment practices DOL VETS views as exemplary, particularly with respect to measurable hiring and retention outcomes and formal internal support structures.

Several CWC members were among the employers recognized by DOL this year, including Battelle Energy Alliance; Battelle Savannah River Alliance, LLC; Entergy Corporation; Lockheed Martin Corporation; and Savannah River National Laboratory.

What You Should Do

Employers interested in the HIRE Vets Medallion Award program may wish to review the eligibility criteria and consider whether existing veteran hiring and retention practices align with DOL VETS’ benchmarks. Additional information about the program, including future application periods, is available at www.hirevets.gov.
