CWC’s 2023 Workplace Equity Policy Conference Highlights

CWC held its 2023 Workplace Equity Policy Conference earlier this month to highlight the ever-changing landscape of compliance, diversity, equity and inclusion, and workplace risk management. The two-day virtual conference consisted of ten substantive sessions, including presentations by OFCCP Director Jenny Yang, EEOC Vice Chair Jocelyn Samuels, OFCCP Enforcement Director Bob LaJeunesse, and representatives from the Federal Interagency Technical Working Group on Race and Ethnicity Standards.

What It Means

Highlights included:

• The EEOC in 2023, in which Vice Chair Samuels noted key issues that employers should expect from the Commission in the near future;
• OFCCP Policy and Enforcement Priorities, in which Director Yang discussed significant OFCCP policy initiatives;
• The NLRB’s Regulation of Workplace Policies, in which Chairman John Ring offered his perspective on the Board’s policy priorities;
• 2023 Supreme Court Update, in which SCOTUSblog editor James Romoser shared his prediction on how the Court will rule in Harvard; and
• OFCCP Enforcement Trends, where OFCCP officials offered insights into the tools used by compliance officers during desk audit reviews and suggestions on how employers can replicate those analyses.
