State Standards

Our state standards tools help members stay on top of evolving state and local compliance requirements.

Meal and Rest Period Requirements

While federal law does not require employers to provide employees with a meal or rest period, several states mandate that employers do so. These state laws often differ in who is eligible, what length they must be, and when they must occur during an employee's workday. CWC's State Meal and Rest Period Requirements resource enables members to quickly locate which states have these laws and what they require.
