Jury Duty

Many states have passed laws that require an employer to permit an employee to take leave from work in order to serve on a jury. Many of these states, however, differ in what is required from the employee upon learning that they have been selected for jury duty and what actions an employer is prohibited from taking against an employee who takes such leave. CWC's State Jury Duty Laws tool allows members to quickly see which states have laws related to employee leave for jury service, including what is required of both the employee and the employer, as well as whether the leave is to be paid or unpaid.
