Many states have enacted their own versions of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act which requires proper notice be given to employees and various other individuals before a mass layoff, plant closure, or other event occurs. Many of these state laws contain more arduous and expansive notice requirements, apply to more employers, and lack certain exceptions afforded under the federal WARN. CWC's State Mini-WARN Laws tool helps members quickly see their notice requirements and any potentially applicable exceptions that would excuse their performance under the state law.
Helps members locate their state level requirements regarding their obligation to notify employees before conducting a mass layoff.
