Workplace Marijuana / Cannabis Laws

The proliferation of state laws related to marijuana rivals that of any category of state legislation and arguably surpasses other subject areas in the amount of time it takes from passage to implementation. This means that employers’ learning curve for compliance is significantly shorter than in other areas. CWC has developed a State Laws for Medical Marijuana resource tool to help navigate this compliance minefield and ensure members are aware of what they may and may not do when it comes to accommodation, drug testing, and workplace policies surrounding marijuana, especially in states that afford explicit employment protections for medical marijuana users.
